Progress Information 
This is a brief outline of the requirements to achieve this promotion. A more detailed curriculum is available at our school. 
2nd Kyu Brown Belt 

 

A student must achieve a minimum of 4 tips to advance.

Must attend 15 Sparring Classes (Before 4th Tip)

 

Testing for the rank of 2nd Kyu, 1st Kyu, Black Belt:

 

• DRILLS: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced Drills using Techinques learned for last 3 tips

• Kata: 1 Beginner Kata, 1 Intermediate Kata, & Regular Speed (Pinan 4 & Chino Technical study)

• IPPONS: 1-10 Combat Speed / 11-15 technical study (Show knowledge of Technique)

• Self Defense: Must perform 3 learned self defense techniques & Show learned knowlege of Locking Drill

• 3 Point Kumite: Utilize all learned blocks and counters

• Sparring: Must effectively defeat all lower rank students
